Always an orange or tangerine in the toe, and always filled with needed items like a toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.

My family wasn't religious at all, but when I got older I joined our country church choir and loved singing (off key) in all the holiday services.

Now the Solstice has more meaning for me, as it heralds a return of daylight. I get so carried away by the whole Christmas deal - even down to the commercialism!! LOL! It's not so much the cost or the spending or the pressure - it's more the thought of getting or making something special for special people in my life. I think gift giving means so much if it's from the heart - and what better excuse to do this than at Christmas!! Even just getting a christmas card brightens my day cos I think someone thought me special enough to send me one!!

And I love all sentimentalities attached to the holidays too. All the decorating, the idea of getting together with family and friends and the celebration of a year passing.

Have a great Christmas!

Take care
xOld Kittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13185547869183611159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1131952470972220730.post-39740486696748659142010-12-18T20:54:49.914-08:002010-12-18T20:54:49.914-08:00People making an effort this time of year + all th...People making an effort this time of year + all the lights and merriment is nice.
